These days we have been testing Microsoft's Copilot. We have been using it quite a bit to generate texts, images, diagrams, etc. Our idea is to learn and get AI to be our assistant during the day to day, and to help us in those tasks that we are laziest to do because they are more repetitive.
We want to talk to you about GDD, in a previous post we talked about GDD Document and we already commented on how important it can be. Today we wanted to see how good and fine-tuned Copilot was, and for this we asked it to generate a GDD for us by giving it our document template and a description of the game.
It must be said that it has filled out the document for us in a fairly simple way, but covering all aspects of the document, and now we have a sketch to work on.
The prompt we used is:
"We are a small team and we want to develop a game for [platforms], with a style [our style - low poly, 3D, etc]. The goal of the game is [our goal]. The rules are [game rules]. The setting of the game will be [our setting - a limited 3D world, for example an island]. The goal of the game is [our goal]. This is our GDD template [template]. You can fill it in."
This has given us a GDD where our ideas are well defined, and now we need to refine all the aspects, but we already have a base point to start from.
